NEW STAND-ALONE HEAT EXCHANGER CONTROLLER FOR REMOTE SITE CABINETS --- 1st IN A NEW FAMILY OF HEAT EXCHANGER CONTROLLERS FROM QUEST

Palmetto, Florida - Quest Controls, Inc. is pleased to introduce the new TELSEC® 500, a stand-alone, rack mounted heat exchanger controller designed for the thousands of remote site cabinets in both the wireline and wireless telecom industries.  Priced under $750, this stand-alone controller saves energy costs, extends heat exchanger fan life, and extends battery life in the remote site cabinet.  The TELSEC® 500 monitors and sends alarms to a telecom alarm and/or maintenance center through dry contact closures.

“The TELSEC® 500 has designed in variable speed control of up to six heat exchanger fans,” states Stuart Brager, Quest Control’s Executive VP of Marketing & Sales.  “This intelligent variable speed control enables fan motors to run at the minimum speed necessary to maintain tight and stable temperature control within the cabinet, thereby saving significant energy costs.  As temperature inside of the cabinet increases, the fan speed is increased, and visa versa.  By running the fans at lower speeds, the life of each fan motor can be extended, resulting in lower fan replacement costs and reduced visits to the remote cabinet sites.  Using variable speed control of the fan motors also extends battery life during a commercial power failure.”

In addition to controlling up to six fans, the TELSEC® 500 alarms for fan and fuse failures and intrusion alarms.  Using a temperature sensor, the TELSEC® 500 can also alarm for a high temperature condition.  Green and red LED’s are provided for simple on-site status monitoring.  The TELSEC® also includes reset and override features for local maintenance and monitoring.

Another product in Quest’s Heat Exchanger Controller family is the Heat Exchanger Interface Module, a rack mount module which connects to the TELSEC® 1500/2000 RM.  Like the TELSEC® 500, it provides variable speed control of up to six heat exchanger fans and adds heat exchanger control and monitoring to broad range of remote site applications including access control, HVAC & Environmental control, battery, power plant, generator, telephony equipment, and tower light monitoring.
