Monitors Modbus enabled devices for trending & alarming.

Quest introduces the new low cost TELSEC MINI™ PLUS for monitoring cabinets and small sites

Palmetto, Florida - Quest Controls, Inc. is pleased to introduce the TELSEC MINI™ PLUS to provide alarm monitoring in cabinets, OTN’s, shelters, small remote sites, data switching and computer centers.

The TELSEC MINI PLUS reduces visits to remote sites and eliminates downtime by acting as an early warning system.  It provides real-time visibility to remote sites and is simple to install and program.

The TELSEC MINI PLUS is a very compact monitoring system that can be mounted on a rack, a wall or just about anywhere in a cabinet, OTN or small remote site.  The MINI PLUS is powered from 24-48VDC and can monitor up to 6 universal inputs including temperature, humidity, commercial power fail, DC Plant alarms, HVAC failures, fire/smoke, intrusion, and other equipment failures.  These universal inputs accept digital contacts or any 0-5VDC or 4-20mA sensors. An additional input is dedicated to monitoring the float voltage from the incoming power terminals for high and low voltage alarms as well as trending.  The MINI PLUS has a serial port to monitor Modbus enabled devices for trending and alarming.  Modbus register status is available via the web server or SNMP.

The TELSEC MINI PLUS provides SNMP traps and informs over Ethernet back to an alarm center.  In addition, it provides email alarm messaging and comes standard with a friendly, versatile embedded Web Server.  A user can interrogate their remote cabinet or site from any alarm or maintenance center.  The MINI PLUS can be easily programmed in the field through a web browser and can be customized to meet your unique requirements.  The TELSEC MINI PLUS has two digital outputs that can be used to send alarms over the overhead to an alarm center or for a local annunciator.

The TELSEC MINI PLUS also sends SNMP traps to Quest’s Q-View Server Software.  Q-View enables the user to view all their sites from one IP address and access the web server for each ESB directly.  Q-View also provides graphs, logging and significant alarm and data history for each site as well as accepting SNMP traps from up to 25,000 different devices.

Quest Controls, Inc. designs, manufactures, and markets a complete family of remote surveillance products that provide monitoring, control, and test solutions for the telecommunications, cable, and commercial industries.  The TELSEC®, Q-View & Q3 product families provide alarm performance, monitoring, control, and test of a facility’s critical operating environment and equipment to maintain and ensure each facility’s smooth and continuous operation.  Quest Controls, Inc. also provides installation services as well as 24/7 monitoring and service contracts.

Quest Controls Announces a New Product Line of BACnet Controls

Quest Controls develops a new family of BACnet communicating controllers for lighting and HVAC applications.

Quest Controls introduces a new line of BACnet communicating controls designed for HVAC and Lighting.  Quest Controls has developed the products to meet the new and changing needs of the building industry and to give customers the flexibility to integrate other building sub-systems quickly and easily.

The release represents Quest Control’s ongoing emphasis on addressing the multi-site commercial market. The new line of controls includes HVAC control for multi-stage conventional & heat-pump mechanical units and a six schedule lighting time-clock control with photocell inputs & an internal astronomical calendar.

Quest Controls has designed each product in its new line of BACnet controls to act autonomously as well as in concert with OspreyFMS™.  Ease of commissioning has been a top priority in development of the new controls, so each device is equipped with an easy-to-read LCD screen for programming, internal schedules, and inputs & outputs for monitoring appropriate mechanical points.

“BACnet communications facilitate the ability to easily integrate disparate sub-systems into a single interface”, Quest Controls’ Ken Nickel, Executive VP, notes, “Our line of controls provides an open-system that ensures a future-proof facility”.

Ken continued, “BACnet controls are a key component to OspreyFMS.  The OspreyFMS system accepts any BACnet control, and the Quest line provides the sophistication, flexibility and straight-forward commissioning that Quest Controls customers expect.”

“This represents the first in a series of releases of BACnet products” commented Ben Shipley, Director of Commercial Division. “We’ll continue to build on the line to accommodate almost every application.  These devices provide the means for facility managers to monitor building performance, costs, and savings through OspreyFMS.”

Quest Controls Announces the Release of OspreyFMS™, a Centralized Energy Management Dashboard and Measurement Tool

OspreyFMS provides an intuitive, commission-ready tool for easy multi-site access and reporting from any BACnet or MODbus connected building network.

Quest Controls has released the OspreyFMS dashboard, a tool that will allow managers, technicians and users to easily and quickly interface with multiple building management systems–whether at a single site or with numerous sites.   Many companies have created products that only allow for programming, scheduling, alarming and monitoring, this tool combines those capabilities with the ability to measure and verify those systems as well.

The OspreyFMS system integrates the building control network with supporting datasets of utility, maintenance & weather information to provide a clear and comprehensive view of your facility.  OspreyFMS supports open protocols such as BACnet and MODbus and is centrally hosted to allow back and forth communication with other networks, applications and servers.

Ed Goggin, President of Quest Controls, commented, “What distinguishes the OspreyFMS dashboard are the joint functions of intuitive remote management and integrated measurement functions. You will no longer have to guess what equipment is costing you the most money.  The reporting tools overlay your building’s performance against the actual costs.  The guesswork is minimized, and the savings are documented.”

Pivotal to the intuitive nature of OspreyFMS is the inclusion of a map function that provides a tool for rapid navigation to any site.  Each site on this map includes key data points of energy, building performance, and weather conditions.

OspreyFMS is the centerpiece to Quest Control’s future monitoring & control solution.  “Quest Controls has committed a sizable amount of resources into the development and continued support of OspreyFMS.  Future releases will have tools for measuring sustainability, integrating work management, and inventory levels.  Through a centrally-based package, the sky will be the limit.” noted Ben Shipley, the Director of the Commercial Division.
