Quest Controls introduces the RSC 1000™ to intelligently monitor and control HVAC systems in substations and remote sites with touch screen technology for substations and remote sites with two to four HVAC systems.

The RSC 1000 enables endusers to shrink energy consumption, improve quality, reduce maintenance costs, and boost productivity through intelligent remote management of the facility. The RSC 1000 deploys sophisticated control algorithms to significantly reduce energy consumption by directly controlling HVAC economizers for free cooling.

The RSC 1000’s unique graphical, color touch screen interface provides simple yet sophisticated onsite management of the sites HVAC systems, allowing total control of the individual AC units.

The RSC 1000 uses Ethernet for remote communications and has a built-in Web Server using the same graphical representation of data as the front panel. The RSC 1000 uses SNMP for remote interrogation and integration into NMS software such as Quest’s OspreyFMS®.

The RSC 1000 controls up to four air conditioning units for cooling, heating, vent and economizer.

OspreyFMS® v1.7 Release

Quest Controls is pleased to announce the release of OspreyFMS v1.7.  This release represents the most significant and feature-rich change to OspreyFMS since its introduction.  Numerous enhancements and new features were developed for protocol mapping, reporting, monitoring, alarming and analytics.

Quest Controls BACnet I/O Module 

In an ongoing commitment to supporting the open BACnet MSTP standard, Quest Controls announces the release of the BACnet I/O Module.  This device affords the flexibility for handling numerous multi-point monitoring and control strategies. The controller includes the following:

OspreyFMS® Modbus TCP Support 

OspreyFMS now supports direct Modbus TCP communication from any compatible device. The Modbus TCP protocol, introduced in 1999, was designed to leverage the ubiquity of Ethernet networks with the flexible Modbus standard.  With this, Quest Controls further supports the ability to readily and effectively monitor and manage any building system, device or equipment from a remote location.

“By supporting Modbus TCP, we now offer yet another channel of monitoring that continues to make the OspreyFMS solution both robust and cost-effective” commented Ben Shipley, director of the OspreyFMS development team. Modbus TCP joins other open protocols supported by OspreyFMS that includes; SNMP (v1, v2), BACnet IP, BACnet MSTP, and Modbus RTU.

Quest introduces the TELSEC MINI PRO to expand the versatile MINI product family for critical facility monitoring

Quest Controls, Inc. is pleased to introduce the TELSEC MINI™ PRO to provide alarm monitoring in cabinets, OTN’s, shelters, hubs, small remote sites, and data switching and computer centers.

The TELSEC MINI PRO is the latest addition to the MINI family of products. The PRO is available in configurations of 8, 16, 24 and 32 Inputs and has an option for Modbus polling over serial communications. MODBUS alarms and data can be collected from several different types of equipment including
HVAC systems, Power Meters, generators, ATS, UPS, and other power equipment.

The MINI PRO reduces visits to remote sites and eliminates downtime by acting as an early warning system. It provides real-time visibility to remote sites and is simple to install and program through its embedded, built-in WEB Server.

The TELSEC MINI PRO is a very compact monitoring system that can be mounted on a rack, a wall or just about anywhere in a cabinet, OTN or small remote site. The MINI PRO supports dual feed powering from 24-48VDC and can monitor temperature, humidity, current, voltage, commercial power fail, DC Plant, Invertor and UPS alarms, HVAC failures, fire/smoke, intrusion, and other equipment failures and environmental parameters. The universal inputs accept digital contacts or any 0-5VDC or 4-20mA sensors. The TELSEC MINI PRO has four digital outputs that can be used to send alarms over the overhead to an alarm center or for a local annunciator.

The TELSEC MINI PRO provides SNMP traps or informs over Ethernet back to an alarm center and to Quest’s Q-View and OspreyFMS® Server Software. In addition, it provides email alarm messaging and comes standard with a friendly, versatile embedded Web Server. A user can interrogate their remote facility from any location on the network through a standard web browser. The MINI PRO is easily configured in the field through a web browser and all settings are saved to non-volatile memory.

Quest Controls Announces SNMP Support now Available in OspreyFMS

After months of development and testing, Quest Controls has released SNMP support within OspreyFMS®. Quest Controls customers now have the option to utilize the currently available Q-View software package, or the facility dashboard, OspreyFMS. OspreyFMS is a complete dashboard for trending and monitoring facility status and alarms – through a cloud-based, easy-to-use interface.

The dashboard interface is graphically rich with clear intuitive tools for easily understanding and managing your network equipment and environments. Emphasis has been placed on creating a tool that is appropriate for an engineer and a manager to quickly understand the health of numerous facilities.

Quest Controls Announces a New Product Line of BACnet Controls

Quest Controls develops a new family of BACnet communicating controllers for lighting and HVAC applications.

Quest Controls introduces a new line of BACnet communicating controls designed for HVAC and Lighting.  Quest Controls has developed the products to meet the new and changing needs of the building industry and to give customers the flexibility to integrate other building sub-systems quickly and easily.

The release represents Quest Control’s ongoing emphasis on addressing the multi-site commercial market. The new line of controls includes HVAC control for multi-stage conventional & heat-pump mechanical units and a six schedule lighting time-clock control with photocell inputs & an internal astronomical calendar.

Quest Controls has designed each product in its new line of BACnet controls to act autonomously as well as in concert with OspreyFMS®.  Ease of commissioning has been a top priority in development of the new controls, so each device is equipped with an easy-to-read LCD screen for programming, internal schedules, and inputs & outputs for monitoring appropriate mechanical points.

Quest Controls Announces the Release of OspreyFMS®, a Centralized Energy Management Dashboard and Measurement Tool

OspreyFMS provides an intuitive, commission-ready tool for easy multi-site access and reporting from any BACnet or MODbus connected building network.

Quest Controls has released the OspreyFMS dashboard, a tool that will allow managers, technicians and users to easily and quickly interface with multiple building management systems–whether at a single site or with numerous sites.   Many companies have created products that only allow for programming, scheduling, alarming and monitoring, this tool combines those capabilities with the ability to measure and verify those systems as well.

Quest Controls is pleased to introduce the TELSEC MINI™ to provide alarm monitoring in cabinets, OTN’s, shelters, small remote sites, and data switching and computer centers.

The TELSEC MINI reduces visits to remote sites and eliminates downtime by acting as an early warning system. It provides real-time visibility to remote sites and is simple to install and program.

The MINI is powered from 24-48VDC and can monitor up to 6 universal inputs including temperature, humidity, commercial power fail, DC Plant alarms, HVAC failures, fire/smoke, intrusion, and other equipment failures. These universal inputs accept digital contacts or any 0-5VDC or 4-20mA sensors. An additional input is dedicated to monitoring the float voltage from the incoming power terminals for high and low voltage alarms as well as trending. The TELSEC MINI has two digital outputs that can be used to send alarms over the overhead to an alarm center or for a local annunciator.

The TELSEC MINI provides SNMP traps and informs over Ethernet back to an alarm center. In addition, it provides email alarm messaging and comes standard with a friendly, versatile embedded Web Server. A user can interrogate their remote cabinet or site from any alarm or maintenance center. The MINI can be easily programmed in the field through a web browser and can be customized to meet your unique requirements.

The TELSEC MINI also sends SNMP traps to Quest’s Q-View Server Software. Q-View enables the user to view all their sites from one IP address and access the web server for each ESB directly. Q-View also provides graphs, logging and significant alarm and data history for each site as well as accepting SNMP traps from up to 25,000 different devices.
