Quest Controls Announces Partnership with
EPA’s ENERGY STAR® Program
October 22, 2008

Quest Controls today announced a fundamental commitment to protect the environment by becoming an ENERGY STAR partner. Quest, through its voluntary partnership with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s ENERGY STAR Program, will work to improve energy efficiency and fight global warming. Quest believes that a strategic, corporate energy management program will help us enhance our financial health and aid in preserving the environment for future generations.

“Quest is very committed to saving energy for its customers,” said Ed Goggin, Quest’s President. “Not only do our TELSEC® & Q3™ monitoring and control products provide a quick payback and good return on investment for our customers, they also help protect our environment.”

In partnership with ENERGY STAR, Quest Controls will:

Measure and track the energy performance of our organization’s facilities where possible by using tools such as those offered through ENERGY STAR;
Develop and implement a plan consistent with the ENERGY STAR Energy Management Guidelines to achieve energy savings; Help spread the word about the importance of energy efficiency to our staff and community; Support the ENERGY STAR Challenge, a national call-to-action to help improve the energy efficiency of America’s commercial and industrial buildings by 10 percent or more;
Highlight our achievements with recognition offered through ENERGY STAR.

"Environmental responsibility is everyone's responsibility - and today I'm pleased Quest Controls is taking this motto to heart," said EPA Administrator Stephen L. Johnson. "By making smart energy choices, Quest is helping improve our nation's energy and environmental outlook."

ENERGY STAR was introduced by EPA in 1992 as a voluntary, market-based partnership to reduce greenhouse gas emissions through energy efficiency. Today, the ENERGY STAR label can be found on more than 50 different kinds of products, new homes and commercial and industrial buildings. Products and buildings that have earned the ENERGY STAR designation prevent greenhouse gas emissions by meeting strict energy-efficiency specifications set by the government. In 2007, Americans, with the help of ENERGY STAR, saved about $16 billion on their energy bills while reducing the greenhouse gas emissions equivalent to those of 27 million vehicles.

Quest Controls Commercial Division
introduces a new Embedded Web Server for its
Q3™ Building Management System

Palmetto, Florida - Quest Controls, Inc. is pleased to introduce a new embedded Web Server in its Q™ Building Management System. The versatile Web Server enables a user to quickly and easily access a Q3™ over a network connection using a standard web browser. By using a web browser such as Microsoft Internet Explorer® or Mozilla Firefox® the user can obtain current status of the facility and make changes to the operation such as set point changes and bypassing outputs. The web server uses Frames to hold common data and menus thereby reducing the amount of data traffic to refresh pages or render new pages when navigating the site.

Typical building applications include fast food outlets, casual dining restaurants,
convenience stores, drug stores, apparel specialty stores, discount department stores, home centers and hardware stores, office product stores, pet supplies stores, and other smaller and medium commercial buildings. Status of active and historical alarms, inputs, outputs, RTU’s, and logs can all be simply reviewed using the Q3™ Web Server. Actual analog readings such as temperatures in each room or zone, humidity, etc. are monitored and displayed in their respective units. Changes to setpoints, bypassing outputs, time-of-day and holiday schedules can easily be made. This is especially useful for staff at centralized and local monitoring centers. This smart interrogation capability enables users to identify the severity of problems at the stores, sort out false alarms, and make intelligent decisions as to when a field technician or a contractor needs to visit a remote site. This 2way communication results in reduced contractor and maintenance visits to stores and for efficient and flexible operations for the stores.

In the stores or restaurants, the Q3™ combined with the Q3RTU™ performs
HVAC, Lighting, and Refrigeration monitoring and control, as well as intrusion alarming, phase loss power monitoring, energy usage monitoring, cooking equipment monitoring and control, and more.

Quest Controls, Inc. designs, manufactures, and markets a complete family of remote surveillance products for the commercial and telecommunications industries including Q3™, TELSEC®, NANA™ and ADAM™ product lines. These products provide alarm performance, monitoring, control, and network communications of a facility’s critical operating equipment to maintain and ensure each facility’s smooth and continuous operation.
